Pin Seekers Golf Tournaments normally have over 100 players. Our objective is to complete each tournament in 4 ½ hours. If you use the following tips during tournament play, you will help us meet that objective.
Keep up with the group in front of you: Don’t wait for the group in front of you to get on the green before you hit, especially on par 5 holes. Don’t hit into the group in front of you, however you should hit your shot as soon as they're out of your range.
Play Ready Golf: Don’t wait until it is your turn to hit the ball before you select the club for your next shot. Be ready to hit at all times.
Provisional Ball: If you think the ball you hit may be out of bounds, use your mulligan or hit a provisional ball. Then go to the location of your first ball. If it is out of bounds pick it up and play your provisional ball.
Putts: In the essence of the 4 hour golf game, when your ball is within (1) Pin Seekers scorecard length of the hole...it is a 'gimmie'. Pick up your ball, add one stroke.
Scorecards: Some scorecard comments:
Cancelling play in a tournament: Check your schedule and cancel play in a timely manner. Don’t wait until late Sunday before the tournament to cancel play
Standby Lists for Tournaments: The Reservations Chairman maintains a standby list for all tournaments schedule for the entire year. If you know you will miss a tournament and want to be on the standby list for a future tournament call or email the Reservations Chairman.
Hole Assignments: The Reservations Chairman makes and maintain the Master Hole Assignments for all members. If three or four individual members want to play together, let him know and he will flag your records, give you a Master Hole Assignment and try to keep your group together at all tournaments. If you are a single and are asked to join a group, let the Reservations Chairman know and he will assign you to that group for all future tournaments.
Volunteers: All officers and other members working at the tournament sites are Volunteers. We can always use additional volunteers.
